Orlová

Orlová is a city mycelium in post-industrial landscape. The revitalization of its historical centre is comprehended as another life of the original rhizome, which havent got any beginning or end, it is an intermezzo, allways in the middle, in between other quarters.

The design search for possibilities - of designing autonomous city complex without non-uniforming of its architecture, of treating historical heritage without any restrictions, of creating economically attractive area without 'developing' or wasting surrounding landscape.

The result of such discourse is urban planning based on sustainable development. The main 3D regulation over building sites of morphologically defined area conceived environmental envelope. It should incite to speculate about dense urban fabric of the old city. More than a necessity (number of inhabitants is decreasing) it means a possibility (building freedom) of looking for what is lacking to the city.
