Blast Off City

/installation/authors Jakub Kopec, Jaroslav Sedlák, Jiří Vítek/public space, EBG/Pardubice/2010

The installation was inspired by the poetics of a square as an outdoor living room. Discarded televisions, the former transmitters of culture, became new urban furniture - the living room wall and the place for sitting. The element known from private households is resite to public space as a tool for its settlement.

The Tower of Babel, the deposit of discarded televisions built at the end of the workshop in the atrium of the gallery, symbolically refered to contemporary media confusion of languages.
