A revitalization of a former croft cementary to a park with playing equipment for children transforms the forgotten walk-through garden to the place of active relaxation for each and every generation. The design is based on three principles - an activation of park borders, an enabling of free movement on its inner area and an addition of new objects to the existing ones.
The pavement along the busy Hlohovská Street will be enlarged beyond the small chapel to create an entrance piazzetta. Adding a pavement along the Rázusova Street on the other park side counts with the opening of the gate leading to close associational garden. In connection with the adjustment of pavements will be transfered the existing fencing and entrance gates. A possibility to set up own entrances from their private gardens will be offered to the residents of surrounding houses.
The new park is understand as one large shady playground. All bushes and other barrier species of woody plants will be removed. Full-grown deciduous trees with underpassable treetops will be treated and gradually accompanied by young ones to prevent their growth break-up and to support their further development. The new planting extends a diagonal organization of the existing alley to the whole width of the park. A soil in safe distance from root system of the trees will be stabilized into free passing surface, loosening the only existing communication axis.
The most of existing objects will be preserved. The chapel will become a landmark of the piazzetta, crucifixes on both sides of the original alley will still introduce entrances to the park. Crafted gravestones will be displayed in a new lapidary next to the gate from piazzetta. The inner park area will be enriched by new ready-made objects, involving the imagination of children themselves, as well as materially differentiated areas in form of wooden landing or sand and EPDM rubber surface. Refurbished street lamps will accompanied new scenic lighting and wooden benches.
